Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Legislation

Control Techniques Dynamics Strategy

EU directive 2002/95/EC directive limits the use of six specified hazardous substances in product placed on the EU market from 1st July 2006.

The substances specified in the directive are LEAD, MERCURY, HEXAVALENT CHROMIUM, POLYBROMINATED BIPHENYLS (PBB), POLYBROMINATED DIPHENYL ETHERS (PBDE) & CADMIUM.

The scope and therefore extent of the directive covers product listed in Annex 1A of RoHS “sister” directive 2002/96/EC WEEE. Control Techniques declare that Servo Motors are not designed & intended to be sold into any of these product groups but form part of “Large Scale Industrial Tools” or “Fixed Installations” which are currently exempt from the directive.

Control Techniques Dynamics recognize and fully support the intentions of the directive and have therefore commissioned a working group to evaluate its products. Following this review Control Techniques Dynamics are pleased to confirm that FM Motors* and cables are compliant.Declarations on the applicable products are available via the web site or customer services.

(* Technical constraints mean we cannot offer our whole product range as approved. See declaration for full details)

We also recognize that the directive will be under periodic review and amendments may be introduced. Control Techniques Dynamics have taken steps to ensure that these amendments are evaluated against the components we use. All new suppliers and design changes to components and processes also encompass a review against the requirements of this directive.
